Day 1 of freedom

Today officially marked the first day of my four weeks leave. God it felt good. I had originally only booked off two weeks for the wedding but after being informed that I had eight weeks of annual leave built up, I thought to myself, hell why not go for a whole month.

It has after all been over a year since I took time off. I’m tired.

When I booked the time off originally I had a few people ask me why. Why take leave now? You can’t go anywhere.

EXACTLY!

I don’t want to go anywhere. I don’t want to do anything. This whole time that Matt has been working from home, safe from the crazy hordes of dooms-dayers and toilet paper hoarders, I’ve been going out and dealing with them. I have been revelling in the idea of having this time off.

My actual response to people was this; I’ve got my couch, my games, my shows and my cats and a freezer full of meals. I don’t have to go anywhere if I don’t want to.

They laughed at this because my tone was quite dramatic and my expression hilarious but I think that they truly underestimated my laziness.

To celebrate my first official day of leave I treated myself to a massage by my dear friend Chloe who runs her own business here in Perth. Please check her out. She is amazing and wonderful and boy can she fix a broken a body and soul. (https://www.flyinghighwellness.com.au/) I also did a yoga session with her last week which I will be writing a separate post about because Chloe deserves a whole post about her and the amazing things she’s doing.

I had planned on coming home afterwards and sorting out the spare bedroom, even bought some storage containers from Officeworks. However before I left Chloe gave me an aloe vera plant which led to me planting the plant in a pot I had in the garage which led to a Bunnings trip to purchase more pots, potting mix, seeds and a small greenhouse.

I’m very excited.

There’s going to be so much research.

Don’t get me wrong. There will be morphing into a couch potato and avoiding all sunlight. But that probably won’t be for another week. I think right now I’m riding the high from having the back paving done and finally being able to start working on the lawn and garden.

Productivity. Woo!

With the recent updates that restrictions are being eased over the next few weeks. The people who were questioning my time off are now jealous of my time off. My plans haven’t changed…but at least people are jealous of what they think I’m going to do?

Then again…If I actually did half the stuff people thought I do…this could be a whole different blog.

Not Safe war update: Matt snuck up on me while I was in the shower this afternoon, pressed his face against the glass and said a very deep “Hello”. I screamed. I swore. There will be revenge. This isn’t over yet.
